  • The Bay Shore Camp is a faith-based organization that offers bi-monthly food distributions to those in need.

NEMCSA Early Childhood Services – 989-883-2501

  • The Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency is committed to providing high-quality services to young children and families. Services include: early childhood education, family engagement, health, mental health, nutrition, and support for children with disabilities.

Harbor Beach Emergency Food Pantry – 989-479-6053

  • The Harbor Beach Emergency Food Pantry provides emergency food for those in need.

Human Development Commission (Bad Axe) – 989-269-9502

  • The Human Development Commission (HDC) is a Community Action Agency located in the Thumb Area, which serves the residents of Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac and Tuscola Counties. They operate more than 50 programs to meet the needs of those struggling financially or needing assistance to become and remain self-sufficient.

Huron County Assistance Programs

  • There are several programs and agencies designed to help struggling and low-income individuals with various needs; and through these programs/agencies, you can apply for support with housing costs, food, clothing, prescription medications, etc.

Huron County Community Foundation – (989) 269-2850

  • The Huron County Community Foundation works to support the public well-being and improve the quality of life in Huron County. They are dedicated to addressing community challenges and opportunities and educating the community.

Huron Great Start

  • The purpose of Huron County Great Start is to ensure families have the resources they need so their young children are healthy, safe, happy, and prepared to succeed in school. They can also connect you with various programs that offer assistance with finances, housing, food and clothing.

Blue Water Center for Independent Living Huron County – (810) 434-1751

  • The Blue Water Center for Independent Living (BWCIL) offers a variety of training to equip those with disabilities with independent living skills and information to manage their own lives and live more independently. They currently offer four online group classes at this time, which include Living Well in the Community, Cooking Skills, Yoga, and an Anxiety Support Group.

Low Income Housing

  • Here you can find low income apartments in Huron County, along with non-profit organizations that help with low income housing needs.

New Life Center (Caseville) – 989-856-4009

  • The New Life Center of Caseville works in conjunction with Caseville United Methodist Church to eliminate hunger in Huron County. In addition to their food pantry and mass food distributions, they also operate Helping Hands Community Thrift Shop, which offers clothing and household items at reasonable prices (proceeds from the thrift shop are then donated to help support the needs or our local community and organizations).

Shared Blessings Food Pantry (Bad Axe) – 989-269-8519

  • The Shared Blessings Food Pantry works with St. Huber Parish to serve the needy in Huron County and the northern sections of Sanilac and Tuscola Counties. They recently partnered with Meijer to provide further relief to local families facing food insecurity.

Thumb Breadbasket (Pigeon) – 989-856-7652

  • The Thumb Breadbasket is a food distribution operation that serves the Thumb Area. They work to ensure families in need do not go hungry.

Trinity UMC Food Bank (Sebewaing) – 989-883-3350

  • Trinity United Methodist Church offers various food ministries, including a food pantry, which serves 75 to 100 families per week with a grocery cart of food. They also offer programs like Emmaus Table (hot meal once a week) and Miller Snack Sacks (snack sacks for children at Miller Elementary School once a week).
